Today is the Big Day for the New Ooni to be Crowned, Read HERE
The coronation ceremony of the newly crowned Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, is underway as guests and invitees throng the palace to be part of the ceremony.
Roads leading to the palace have been blocked by security operatives leaving a red carpet path for the monarch and invited dignitaries.
There is a huge security presence of the army, police, civil defence and other paramilitary organisation at the venue.

At a point, the crowd became problematic, and policemen had to be deployed to clear the palace entrance.
The Ooni was yet to arrive the palace from the residence of the Obalufe from where he is expected to march into the venue of the ceremony, just in front of the palace.
Groups attired in colorful dresses , both men and women, adorn the perimeters of the venue.
Traditional rulers from different climes are arriving with fanfare, with drums and trumpets announcing their arrival.
