Five Reasons Why This Could be Ronaldo’s Last Season In Madrid

image

Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably one of the most successful footballers in the world.

After an illustrious career at Manchester United, the Portuguese left in good faith to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

At Madrid, he has won many trophies and broken records upon records that you doubt if he is really human.

However, as the phrase goes, nothing lasts forever, and there are chances Florentino Perez could be saying good bye to his most prized asset come end of season. Naijaloaded highlights five reasons why:

1- He is not a fan of Benitez:
There is no denying the three-time Ballon d’Or winner prefers the style and philosophy of former boss Carlo Ancelotti.

While news of Ancelloti’s imminent departure filtered the media horizon, he publicly went on social network Instagram to back his former Manager.

With Benitez comes more defensive approach, even for his outfield players, something Ronaldo won’t adopt.

Just recently, there were unverified media reports that the two were at odds in training.

2- Achieved his goals:

Ronaldo is one goal away from becoming Madrid’s all-time top goal scorer, the irony is this feat had already been celebrated, but a goal in September 2010 against Real Sociedad where Ronaldo scored a 74th minute free-kick that deflected off the back of team mate Pepe into the net, was awarded to the Brazilian defender.

Still, the player has successfully built a legacy in world football.

3- Nothing left to prove:

Similar to last point, the prolific playmaker has, ostensibly, achieved all the goals he had set when he left Manchester United for greener pastures

The 30-year old boasts of a Champions League, La Liga, Copa Del Rey and FIFA Club World Cup medals in his opulent collection.

Records are a concept the player fancies.

He is the all-time leading goal scorer in European and Domestic competitions. He has set a precedent that it would take another player of his caliber to achieve.

There is no doubting of his potentials.

4- Ronaldo still loves Manchester United and the club loves him too:

You can’t impress the Madrid supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu, can you?

Surreal incidents of Gareth Bale getting booed by his own fans are
unprecedented. Ronaldo has had his fair share of abuse from home supporters at the Bernabeu, despite giving his maximum to the club. Every game is like a final for Ronaldo

No doubt the Real Madrid supporters still love him, but Manchester United will welcome him back to England with open arms- His name is still chanted in Old Trafford.

5- Frosty relationship with Bale:
Ronaldo and record signing Gareth Bale are not, and probably would never have the smooth footballing relationship that is present in Barcelona with Messi, Neymar and Suarez.

During the protracted transfer saga of Gareth Bale, there were media
reports that President Floretino Perez lied to Ronaldo about the actual transfer fee of Bale, because the player wasn’t happy the Welsh man would cost more than him.

Ronaldo likes to be the main man of the team, and if he isn’t granted of this environment, he would most likely leave the club.

Do you see Ronaldo in Real Madrid next season?
