The new Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, has asked his friends and well-wishers to stop congratulating him in media adverts.
Kachikwu was who assumed duty as on Tuesday, said his appointment is a serious national assignment that does not require the frivolity of congratulatory adverts and the celebration they imply.
Kachikwu made the apeal on Friday in a statement signed by NNPC’s Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, Ohi Alegbe.
He added that he would rather appreciate that friends and well-wishers support him with prayers for divine guidance to carry out the onerous task ahead.
