The Ikire campus of the Osun State University has been
shut down till an unspecified period.
Punch reports that the school authorities through the
Registrar, issued a memorandum announcing the
indefinite close down of the school after an all night
violent protest allegedly embarked upon by students of
the school.
The protest, which was as a result of the death of one of the
students who died in an accident.
However, while confirming the development, the Public
Relations Officer of the school, Mr. Oladeji Abokede,
today in his words said: “The management has closed
down the Ikire Campus due to a violent protest by the
students. The closure is indefinite. We will inform them
when to resume.”
