Lagos Council Chairman impeached
Lagos - Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council
Development Area (LCDA), Abdulfatai Ayodele
Oyesanya. has been impeached by members of the
local government legislative arm.
He was accuses of misappropriation of council
funds, embezzlement, maladministration and
breach of public peace., reports NewsDay.
The decision to impeach Oyesanya was unanimous
taken by all the seven councilors of the LCDA.
Owolabi Taiwo, the council's leader, said the former
chairman has been running a one-man show, a
situation which led to gross mismanagement of the
council resources.
He noted that Oyesanya has since assumption of
office been by paying salaries to family members
who are not council employees.
