Adeyemi predicts mass deflection of APC members to PDP

Abuja - Sen. Smart Adeyemi (PDP Kogi West), has called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be prepared to receive more members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Adeyemi said the PDP-led Federal Government had succeeded in improving electricity and other critical sectors of the country`s economy. He said that the current security challenge facing the country was a global problem, adding that it was not synonymous to Nigeria. He said that in spite of some challenges, the PDP was the party that would take Nigerians to the Promised Land. Adeyemi said that though the PDP might not be the best party in the country, it was still better than other political parties, adding that the PDP was the party to beat. The senator said that though opposition was good in democracy, it should be in the interest of the people and the advancement of the country. He, however, said that opposition should not be formed to victimise the government in power because its members had not been settled. He called on state governors to do more to ensure better service delivery to the people through the creation of employment opportunities for them. “Job creation is not the sole responsibility of the Federal Government. All tiers of government must be involved in the process of providing job opportunities for the people. Nigeria is a federation,” he said. Adeyemi said it was unfortunate that some governors were acquiring private jets instead of using such monies to create employment for the people. In his response, Mu`azu promised to sustain the vision of the founding fathers of the people. Mu`azu said that under his leadership, the PDP would build a solid foundation for future generation of Nigerians.
