Riding on the success of the ‘Transform Today’
campaign, Absolut consumers have continued to shower praises and encomiumon the
premium vodka. This is fallout of Absolut Vodka’s sponsorship of the just
concluded 2014 MAMAs which was held in Durban, South Africa. The consumers made
up of four VIP ticket winners, a super key distributorand friends of Absolut recently
shared their experiencesof the brand’s love for transformation, music and

The Absolut team of AkintayoAkinseloyin,
AdemolaAdelabu, FeyikemiAfolabi, AyeniOluwatobi, Esther Nwogu, Simeon Ejeh,
Oluwadamilare Job and Celestine joined others around the world to celebrate the
efforts of young African talents who have helped transform the continent. The
MAMAs created an opportunity for consumers of Absolut Vodka to connect with celebrities
like Clarence Peters, Davido, Flavour and Tiwa Savage in an atmosphere of colors,
stylish looks, and musical funfair to raisethe bar of entertainment in Africa.
According to the Brand Manager, Absolut Vodka Nigeria,
AkintayoAkinseloyin, “We are happy to be a part of the celebrations of creativity and transformation in young peopleand look forward to
more entertaining moments in the future. The Absolut brand is poised to inspire
transformation through creative art and this we have shown with the consumerVIP
experience to the Awards in South Africa.”
The first VIP
ticket winner, FeyikemiAfolabi thanked Absolut Vodka for an exciting exposure as
she did not have an international passport and had never travelled out of the
country. Feyikemi said “It was like a dream come true, from just buying Absolut
for my Oga at the beach to wining a VIP ticket to the MAMAs. I cannot still
believe how it all happened even after coming back from South Africa because
everybody in my neighbourhood now looks at me like a star and my pictures are
all over the internet”.
While OluwatobiAyeni,
a trendy and out-going winner expressed much happiness as Absolut gave him the
opportunity to mingle side-by-side with all the famous celebrities he had
always admired. “I always wanted to travel to South Africa before now, but the
golden opportunity of an all paid experience was so surprising considering all the
free good time we had from Lagos to the MAMAs and I must confess that Absolut
Vodka has actually transformed my today”, Ayeni said.
Also, the duo of
Simeon Ejeh and Esther Nwoguwere too excited to hold back their feelings as
they turned to Facebook and Twitter to share their respective happiness saying
“Absolut Vodka has really caused a change in the life of young Nigeriansbecause
my transformation story is now the main subject matter in the hotel where I
work” and “This is an experience of a lifetime as I never thought in my wildest
dream that I will be amongst the many VIPssitting around superstars like Davido
and Tiwa Savage”.
Worthy of
mention is the newly introduced ‘Transform Today’ by Absolut category of the
2014 MAMA which was won by Clarence Peters - a Nigerian music video producer
and the award is aimed at celebrating the talents, and creativity of African
artists who are at the cutting-edge of change in the music industry, pushing
the boundaries of contemporary culture to connect with passions of the new
generation in Africa.
Aside attending the MTV Africa Music Awards, Absolut Vodka
thrilled its consumers to an interesting merry-go-round of the City of Durban,
a foremost tourist destination in Africa. It was an all-expense paid trip and
exposure for the VIP ticket winners as they maneuvered from special retreats at
international hotels to choice restaurants, shopping malls, fun-rides,
exclusive parties, and a memorable sight-seeing of some spots in Durban to
mention a few.
However, other activities which formed a part of the
Transform Today campaign in Nigeria included consumer
